Autonomous Transport as a Key Element of Industry 4.0: Classification, Technologies and Barriers to Implementation
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state of autonomous vehicles. The influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) on the development of transport is shown. According to the SAE J3016 standard (levels 0-5), the international classification of vehicle autonomy levels is described. The analysis of the elements of autonomous transport systems - a complex of sensors and programs based on artificial intelligence - is carried out. An overview of the main development companies and unmanned models is given. The focus is on the key challenges of implementing autonomous transport: ensuring security and cyber resilience, the need to develop communications infrastructure and modernize the regulatory framework. Conclusion: full vehicle autonomy (level 5) is achievable when implementing a set of interdisciplinary tasks.
